For the last year my partner and I have been the excited parents of twin boys. This has brought us the joy and the occasional sleep-deprived paranoia that all parents experience but in, statistically speaking, an unusual household. My partner and I are both women, a situation that we rather enjoy but that adds its own twist on the experience of raising children.
Now the boys are a year old, I have caught my breath enough to start writing this blog. I aim to provide an insight into the realities of being the gay parents of twins, to entertain and reveal the joy of parenthood and, every now and then, to expose the challenges – both serious and less so – that gay parents face in Britain today.
